No Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no advertising or remarketing tag runs here today.
Why that one item needs no consent
Storage that exists purely to deliver something you asked for — including remembering that you said no to analytics — is exempt from consent requirements under the EU ePrivacy rules and equivalent guidance elsewhere. We list it anyway. You shouldn’t have to take our word for what’s on your machine.
Our typefaces live on our own server
Most websites pull their fonts from a third-party font network. It looks harmless, but it quietly sends every visitor’s IP address to that provider before the visitor has agreed to anything — which a German court found to be an unlawful transfer under the GDPR.
Whimsy’s four typefaces — Grandstander, Quicksand, Archivo Narrow and Caveat — are served from our own server instead. Nothing about your visit reaches a font company. No cookie, nothing to consent to.
Nothing else loads from anywhere else
No embedded video players, no social widgets, no live chat, no maps, no comment system. When you open a page here, every single file comes from playwhimsy.com.
We do link out — to the shops that stock Whimsy, and to abbasbinhaider.com. Those are ordinary links: nothing loads until you click, and once you arrive, that site’s cookie practices apply rather than ours.
Analytics: what would change
We’d like to know which pages help parents and which don’t. If we add analytics:
- It loads only after you press “Accept analytics”. Decline, or ignore the banner, and it never loads at all.
- We’ll name the tool and list its cookies in the table above before it goes live, not after.
- Measurement only — no advertising features, no remarketing, no following you around the internet.
Changing your mind
- Here — clear your browser’s storage for playwhimsy.com and the banner comes back next visit.
- In your browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all let you block or delete cookies and site data, for everything or just for us. Look under Settings → Privacy.
Blocking storage for this site changes nothing except that you’ll see the banner every time.
