2. Who runs this site
The site is operated by Abbas Bin Haider General Trading LLC, a limited liability company registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which owns the Whimsy brand. Full details are on our Legal Notice page.
3. What this site is for
This is a brand website. It tells the story of Whimsy, introduces the two bikes, says where to find them, and gives you a way to reach us.
It is not a shop. You can’t place an order or pay for anything here, and nothing on this site is an offer to sell you a bicycle.
Nothing here is technical, medical or safety advice.
4. Buying a Whimsy
Whimsy bikes are sold by independent retailers and online marketplaces. Price, stock, delivery, assembly, returns, refunds and cancellation are between you and that retailer, under their terms and the consumer law that applies to them. We don’t set their prices and we can’t process a return for them.
If something goes wrong with an order, start with the retailer. If the problem is with the bike rather than the transaction, come to us — see clause 5.
5. Warranty
Whimsy bicycles carry a limited warranty: lifetime cover on the frame for the original purchaser, and nine months on the fork and all other original components and accessories, in each case against manufacturing and material defects and subject to the full terms.
The complete terms — what’s covered, what isn’t, and how to claim — are on our Warranty page, and those terms govern. The summary in this clause is for convenience and doesn’t change them.
Your statutory consumer rights under the law that applies to you are not affected by the warranty or by these terms.
6. What we say about the bikes
We describe our two bikes as honestly as we know how, and the age ranges we give are guidance, not rules — children vary enormously, and fit follows height and inside-leg far more than birthdays.
Specifications, components, colours and availability change over the life of a model, and suppliers occasionally substitute equivalent parts. Photography is illustrative; colours differ between screens, and anything shown alongside a bike isn’t necessarily included with it.
Before buying on the strength of a particular detail, confirm it with the retailer or with us. The retailer’s listing for the actual bike you’re buying takes precedence over the general description here.
7. Riding safely
Cycling carries risk, and children’s cycling carries the risk of a child being involved. Please:
- Follow the assembly and maintenance instructions supplied with the bike. If you aren’t confident it’s assembled correctly — brakes and stem bolts especially — have a competent mechanic check it before your child rides it.
- Fit a correctly sized helmet, and use whatever other protective equipment suits how and where your child rides.
- Supervise young or new riders, and choose where they ride accordingly.
- Check the bike regularly as your child grows — a bike that fitted last year may not fit now.
- Obey the traffic and cycling rules where you are.
We can’t supervise your child’s riding and we don’t take responsibility for it. That part is yours.
8. Permitted and prohibited use
You may browse, view and print pages from this site for your own personal or legitimate business use.
You may not:
- Use the site for any unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive purpose.
- Copy, republish, sell or commercially exploit any part of it without our written permission.
- Systematically scrape or harvest content in a way that puts an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or any connected system.
- Introduce viruses, malware or anything else technologically harmful.
- Present yourself as an authorised Whimsy retailer or service agent when you aren’t.
9. Intellectual property
Everything on this site — the writing, the design, the illustrations, the photography, the model names and the code — is owned by Abbas Bin Haider General Trading LLC or used with permission, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property law in the UAE and internationally.
The Whimsy name, the emblem and the wordmark are trade marks of Abbas Bin Haider General Trading LLC. Nothing here gives you a licence to use them. Retailer names and logos shown on the site belong to those retailers and appear only to show where our bikes can be found.
10. Links to other sites
We link to retailers and to abbasbinhaider.com. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content, products, availability or privacy practices. A link isn’t an endorsement of everything you’ll find there.
11. Availability
We try to keep the site up, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted access and we may suspend, withdraw or restrict any part of it without notice.
12. Limitation of liability
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we exclude all warranties, conditions and representations not expressly set out in these terms.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, anticipated savings or data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for defective products where liability can’t lawfully be excluded, or for anything else that can’t lawfully be limited under UAE law. Your rights under the Whimsy warranty and under consumer law are unaffected.
13. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy form part of these terms.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. The version on this page is the one that applies, and the date at the top shows when it changed. Carrying on using the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or your use of this site, are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, and the courts of Dubai have exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you’re a consumer whose local law lets you bring proceedings in your own courts, that right is unaffected.
